Verizon

We were recently visited at our office by a representative of telephone giant Verizon who wanted to review our current plan and see if she could save us some money. Basically she recommended we consolidate our telephone lines, long distance and Internet connections into a single reduced monthly fee. It sounded good and we went along with it. When our next bill came, we discovered that our fees had actually gone up as opposed to down (it almost doubled). "Strike one."

Obviously irritated with the bill, we wanted to find out exactly what was going on and endeavored to contact Verizon about our billing. Ever try to call Verizon lately? They have taken "Voice Mail Jail" to a whole new level. You are asked a series of questions by a preprogrammed voice that theoretically is to expedite your problem and take care of you. Wrong. No matter how we tried to work within their voice mail system we were never able to get the answers we were looking for. Even worse, our frustration level arose to a new level as we were never allowed to talk to a human being about our problem. It seems the only time you can communicate with Verizon is when they want something from you, not when you want something from them. "Strike Two."

VERIZON

Whoever thought Verizon's voice mail system improved customer service should be taken out and horse whipped. Actually, I got the impression there isn't a breathing person at Verizon; that everything is being run by computers and the executives are lying on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean. I guess its not a bad gig if you can set your company up this way and you really do not care about customer service.

Verizon

I'm just wondering how many other customers they have been able to alienate or are we the only ones left using Verizon? We better get this problem resolved soon or it will be "Strike Three" and they're out of here.

NOTE - If you purchase the phone from the internet, we do no recommend going to the actual Verizon Wireless store. A sales persons main intention once you walk in the door is to either upgrade your current phone or sell you a new contract and may make up a variety of reasons why your phone can not be activated. Additionally, most store workers are only trained on the few models that are on hand in the store and may not be familiar enough with the phone to activate it. The best trained people are found when you call in your phone via Verizon customer support.

Tip - If you can not locate the ESN or HEX number on a Blackberry or Palm Treo cell phone, you can find these necessary number for activation by entering *#06# on a Blackberry and on a Palm Treo you can enter ##786 or #*#786 followed by the center button. Verizon FIOS Vs ATT Uverse - How Does it Compare?

Verizon FIOS and ATT Uverse are two new avenues with the latest techniques in telecommunication, television viewing and high-speed internet management. Both providers use sophisticated mechanism to allure customers with high class multimedia viewing, telephone facilities and availability of internet. These companies are trying to attract customers with different promotional strategies so customers of satellite providers and cable connections are influenced adequately to switch over to the novel service.

Verizon is adopting the FTTP or 'fiber to the premises' technique and drawing fiber optic cable to each subscribing home. This process will cost very high because the direct connection with fiber cables will take more time and is an expensive proposition. The fact of the matter is that the company is not able to use the copper wire connection that is present there joining the field station and subscriber homes. To turn the same connection with fiber optic cable is a time taking arrangement and will eventually cost the company more to take it to the operational stage.

VERIZON

On the other hand, ATT Uverse is confident to take advantage of the present fiber optic lines and copper connections joining the field station and subscriber homes for availability of the new service to customers. They are positive about their FTTN or 'fiber to the node' access system. The changeover takes relatively small time and involves lesser investment for the company as well as for the customers. The need to switch over to the FTTP access system will be a future possibility when there will be huge demand of bandwidth from customers. The required up gradation can be easily done at a future time with the additional demand from the market.

Verizon FIOS Vs ATT Uverse - How Does it Compare?

In reality Verizon is a most reliable system with several services for consumer use, which they have provided after continuous up gradation, expansions and meticulous maintenance credibility. The principal of service is quality, which they have built over the years, which have been achieved after huge expenditure on technology improvement on a regular basis with adequate use of will to offer the best service to customers. The company is not interested to compete with the satellite service providers or the cable companies on price ground. It is still to be seen whether the company fights with the competitor ATT Uverse on the same ground as both of them have adopted identical technology. The approach of ATT Uverse is to give relief to customers in rentals by way of discounts and they are continuing with their attitude of wooing subscribers by offering standard rates for services to homes. The company is able to enjoy this facility of providing reduced rates because of their current infrastructure, which they could use in the application of this new technique. The policy is welcome by customer for reduced rates of services which the company intends to exploit to their advantage at present.

It will take some time to engage the FTTP connections from Verizon FIOS because the cost of growth is very high and it has to be competed phase by phase. On the other hand, ATT Uverse has used the existing network to get more number of customers for their services at cheaper rates. The future is still a matter of debate when the market will be exploited by other entrants, but one thing is certain that the new technology has totally altered the approach to television viewing, high-speed connection on Internet and telephonic communication rates.

The Verizon T1 Line Solution

The Verizon T1 line or DS1 Line is a relatively new addition to the package of services offered by this company. In the past the cost of a T1 line made its use by many businesses cost prohibitive. But the increased use of the system and its ability to centralize services for it's customers has reduce the costs involved in installing and using the DS1 line.

Phone lines have been used in offices for both computer and telephone usage. The phone were analog until a few years ago when they began to be digitalized. However, even with digitalization there was still the fact that modems using phone lines were unable to move with the speeds that many people have come to expect from the computer systems.

VERIZON

The introduction of the Verizon T1 line has provided small and mid-sizes businesses with many benefits. Among them is the fact that a business no longer is required to pay for individual phone lines used by their employees. The costs of an ISP and the charge of the phone company for the modem line can add up quickly when one begins to grow a business.

In order to transfer large data files or perform tasks that require a large amount of memory transfer one needs a powerful system. The Verizon DS1 line offers 24 channels that can be configured to meet these needs.

The T1 line does not use standard phone lines and a computer using this line runs at a much faster rate of speed. The 24 cigitalized channels provide capability to run computers, phones, and other equipment in the office from a single DS1 line.

A tremendous expense to businesses in the past has been their phone lines, computer modems, and ISP charges. As a company grew these expenses grew with it. The Verizon T-1 line can be configured for up to 24 channels, however a business is charged only for the channels they use.

The service package is designed to meet the specific needs of a business. Configuration of the DS1 line includes creating a seamless system that is more reliable than a telephone at an affordable price. The service packages designed through the Verizon T1 line team include a single monthly charge for the line and the only additional charges are related to long distance phone charges.

As a business grows the T-1 line can be reconfigured very easily to accommodate the added needs of a business. This flexibility allows a business to grow or downsize without impacting the operation of their equipment. Activating channels can be accomplished very easily from the Verizon DS1 line base.

The T-1 line is a single box with one cord and does not require multiple cords to function. When the line is switched with regular phone lines there is no need to buy different phones or computer equipment. The compatibility of the DS1 line provides a business with a smooth exchange of service.

There are often many questions that arise when a business changes from a traditional phone system to a T1 line. The representatives at the Verizon T-1 line group are available to answer questions and provide technical support if there are any issues or concerns that arise.

Without an Internet connection like Verizon FiOS, your bandwidth might get swamped by all the graphics and popular Internet games people love to play. Games can become frustrating and hard to play if the internet connection is not solid, resulting in internet connection interruptions because the Internet service that they're using can't sustain a high speed connection.

VERIZON

Verizon FiOS is different from cable Internet because it uses powerful fiber optic cables that run directly to your home instead of relying on traditional cables that use the same technology as old landline phone systems. Can you imagine trying to play one of today's modern high intensity digital games or MMORG games on a dial up connection?

If you're using an Internet connection that relies on the old framework of traditional land line phones, like cable Internet service, then you might as well be trying to play on a dial up connection. The fiber optic cable used by Verizon FiOS acts like a huge pipeline that can accommodate massive amounts of information and data which make it much easier and more fun to game.

Gamers that play MMORGs like World of Warcraft and participate in group events and raids have to have the kind of power and speed that Verizon FiOS Internet service provides in order to get to the top of the game. When your fellow gamers are depending on you, a dropped Internet connection can mean the difference between winning the battle or everyone on your team dying.

In MMORGs, high level raids and battles can have as many as 20 people or more per side that are all doing battle at once. That can cause a lot of confusion and a lot of congestion on the network servers. If you don't have a strong Internet connection that is going to keep you in the game, you could end up getting dropped at a crucial time which might end up making your team or guild lose the raid or the battle.

You can't get to the elite level and participate in group events unless you have the reliability and strength of the best Internet service out there, which experts agree is the Verizon FiOS Internet service. Pro gamers recommend using an ultra powerful Internet service like FiOS if you want to get to the pro level as a gamer.
