Samsung Fascinate for Verizon Wireless is a CDMA version of Samsung Galaxy S. It supports dual band CDMA 800 / 1900 Mhz 2G networks and CDMA 2000 Mhz 1xEV-DO 3G networks. The phone measures 125 X 64 X 10.5 mm and weighs 116 grams. It offers stylish looks and is one of the most lightweight smartphones in the market.
Like most Samsung smartphones, this one also features a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display. The Super AMOLED display is one of the best in the world and offers bright and clear pictures. The size of the screen is 4.0 inches and has a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. It supports up to 16 millions colors and is made of Gorilla Glass material which is scratch resistant. Other features include geo-tagging, face detection, smile detection, etc. An LED flash is also offered which allows you to take high quality photos and video even during night or in low light conditions. However, the phone lacks a secondary camera for video conferencing.
The cell phone runs on a powerful ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor and features Google's open source Android operating system version 2.1 which can be upgraded to version 2.2. Users can download their favorite apps from the Android App store. Also, there are variety of application that are preloaded onto the phone.
